January each year is the month when many enthusiastic Gardeners browse through plant catalogues and plant websites; this I might add includes myself. Indeed, we always see a marked increase in visitors to our website from this time of the year and onwards, well in to late summer. Scented Geraniums are a plant for all Seasons as there are individual types that are suitable for growing in the home all year round. Being a frost tender sub-shrub they are versatile plants for all around the garden, containers, borders, hanging baskets etc., and do really well outside in the UK and Irish climate between the months of May and through to early November. They are great value for money and with the correct care will provide lots of pleasure for many years.

From December 1st we've now added Availability to Order to our website and as we say each year: 'the EarlyBirds always catch our worms as they will receive larger sized plants'!

First Delivery for 2012 is from early March and during the Checkout Procedure you'll be able to specify which month you would prefer your plants to arrive. This option is available for all Orders received between December and through to the end of February.

a brief introduction to this fascinating and unique group of plants

As soon as the 'geranium' is mentioned we have heard many people say, 'that is the plant with the awful smell but pretty flowers'. They are definitely not referring to Scented Geraniums. The use in public gardens, in particular, of mass planted uniformly sized zonal pelargonium displays (often red, pink and white flowered in colour) has projected the incorrect belief that there is only this type of 'geranium'. Indeed, this type of pelargonium is a useful and colourful hybrid addition to any summer garden planting scheme as they are easy to care for, tolerate most weather conditions and do continue to flower over many months. However, when the Scented Leaf Pelargonium group is discovered it makes the zonals pale in to insignificance.

There are several different groups of pelargonium (geraniums), some categories have sub-groups within them, and they are as follows:

The SCENTED LEAF GROUP are OUR SPECIALITY

As the name implies all of the types within this group have perfumed foliage and all types are classified as herbs. It is the leaves that contain the scent/aroma and the flowers actually possess very little perfume. The most popular types would be the pretty smelling ones although there are others that have a 'woodsy' scent. Unlike the other pelargonium groups there isn't a standard uniform type and each and every one has its own unique characteristics. Coupled with the most amazing of natural scents/aromas it is the non-standardisation in plant form, which totally grips and challenges your imagination when you become hooked on growing these fascinating plants.

How to Order Scented Geraniums

We are the only UK Internet Based Nursery who purely Specialises in growing Scented Leaf Pelargonium. We have one of the largest Collections of Scented Geraniums in the UK and Ireland and offer 100+ named types that may be ordered via our website. FREE P & P to all areas of the UK. Apologies, that we do not supply our plants to other EU countries or the Rest of the World.

When are plants available to order?

We accept Orders through our website from December onwards and up until the end of October.

Which months of the year do you post out plants?

Delivery of Orders commences each year form March through to the end of October.

Pre-Order Option Available November to end of January

From the end of October we take off all of our available plant stock from our website, as we do not post out any Orders during the months of November to early March. We now offer a Pre-Order Option where you may email us your Selection between November and the end of January and we'll send you a PayPal Invoice for payment in February.

Can I state when I would like my plants delivered?

**Order as early as possible demand is always high during April, May and June. **

If you place your Order between November and the end of February you will be able to state which month you would like to receive your Scented Geraniums. Ordering direct through our website is available fro December onwards when we begin to add available plant stock.
Due to the large volume of Orders we receive from March onwards we are unable to offer the option of stating a delivery month and we process all Orders in strict date received sequence/Availability.

During the past 5 years of offering our often little known Scented Leaf Pelargonium via our website we have received numerous emails from our delighted and often totally surprised Customers.

A comment we often receive is:

'I just cannot get over the intensity of the scents of the Scented Geraniums I have just received this morning in the post. All of my plants arrived in absolutely perfect condition and they are absolutely stunning. I'm really looking forward to watching them grow!'.

We are absolutely passionate about growing the 100+ different types of Scenteds in our Collection and, yes, we do all of the propagating and growing ourselves. We are a hands on working Specialist Nursery and we are definitely not a garden centre who buy everything in and never grow a single plant.
